Alice Wilby is a creative consultant, educator and activist, championing sustainable fashion since 2009. As a pioneer, Alice has been involved in lots of industry firsts. As founder of Futurefrock Magazine, Alice was the first UK stylist to produce editorials with 100% sustainable fashion. With the ‘Oxymoron’ team, Alice created London Fashion Week’s first carbon neutral catwalk show and with Novel Beings she launched the worlds first sustainable style agency.
Her sustainable styling has appeared in Vogue, The Telegraph, and Metro and for numerous global brands.
Previously editor at Eco Age, Alice then worked on the launch of Fashion Revolution, collaborating with them for the first 5 years, art directing, styling and producing their global photographic campaigns and creating events.
Alice is currently co-founder of A Novel Approach.co.uk. Novel is an award winning, sustainable style agency, providing creative direction and sustainable consultancy for fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands. Alice also teaches short courses at Central St Martins, including in Sustainable Fashion, Conceptual Fashion Styling and Sustainable Fashion Styling.
As a fashion activist, Alice is a spokesperson and coordinator for Extinction Rebellion’s Fashion Action team. Fashion Action is campaign croup, calling for systemic change in the fashion industry. Fashion Action envisions that fashion, is a vital tool for cultural change, and can help create the regenerative culture we need, in order to fight the climate emergency. Their bold and pioneering campaigning over the last year has driven a paradigm shift in the Fashion Industry and won them backing from Gucci, Stella McCartney, Roland Mouret and model Arizona Muse.
She is also regularly in demand as a panel guest and speaker and has appeared on BBC TV and Radio, Stockholm Fashion Council and ShowStudio as a sustainable fashion expert.
